Anime Festival Asia 2013

First time attending the Anime Festival Asia in Suntec, Singapore. Tickets for the 3 day event from 11-13 November 2013 is $10 (one day entry) just for the Exhibition Access.

As usual, the place was filled with Otakus, which means anime lovers in Japanese (info gotten from Bella - she is also an anime lover FYI).

It is very obvious that these people put in effort to dress up exactly like their favorite anime characters. Thumbs up to them. 👍👍👍. Another thing I found interesting is that they have the AFA Cafe - served by maids and butlers! Too bad we didn't manage to dine in there cause the queue was soooo long! Both Bella and Belle wanted to see Yutakis in person and luckily they manage to at the end! 💃💃💃💃

This year Belle bought the Naruto headband for $10 and Kunai for $5. Bella didn't find anything interesting to indulge in I think. Here are some of the pics that we took in the convention.

Oh ya btw, I honestly don't know the character names. I just take those thati find cool. 😜

Cool pics right?  Have a good day all!

That time of the year is here - PSLE

PSLE. Only those parents and primary 6 students living in Singapore will fear this four letter. To some it even brings them nightmare and neverending stress! Parents and students prepare themselves 1 year in advance - armed with loads and loads of tuition and revisions.

Well, my Bella is taking PSLE this year. I know I am blessed with a daughter that's smart or I would say above average student (must know lah genes from who...ahem!) and we are both being very calm when it comes to PSLE. I always remind her don't be too hard on herself. I tell her it's alright...don't worry too much as long as you do your best. While everyone is slogging away...we still enjoy our weekends out and went for holiday in Korea in June. (Relax lah...I always believe that if you can ma can loh...if cannot force also no point ma right?)

Today is the second paper which is Maths. Bella was happy that she did well in her English papers yesterday! (Yay!! Way to go princess!! Few more days to go and it's FREEDOM!) I'm looking forward to the end of PSLE so we can plan more holidays. I love going on holidays with my kids. They bring me so much happiness!

Well, let's pray and hope that my princess and all primary sixers do well in their PSLE. Good luck and gambateh!

Note : Of course what I said may not be the best approach / way to other parents. It is purely my point of view and I am not saying my way is the best way either. I am sure that as a parent, you know your kids better and also the right way to encourage them to do their best.

Mid-Autumn Festival 2013

It's the time of the year again where we gather with family and share the sweetness of mooncakes (and also gossips..hehehe). We Chinese always have a reason to gather and eat, eat, eat!

Tonight over here at our place, the weather is extremely windy! We couldn't light up the lantern long enough to take pictures. This picture was taken after dinner...after we clean up everything.

We had BBQ and steamboat for dinner. (Every time also same thing...getting a bit lame and bored dee. Must ask hubby to come up with new idea liao!)

Happy Mid Autumn festival everyone (Even though it's summer all year long here in Singapore) and also happy mooncake feasting!

STGCC 2013 in MBS.

Just last week we went to the Singapore Toys, Games & Comic Convention in MBS. Ticket per person for one day pass is $19.00. It's our first time attending STGCC and let me assure you...the money is well spent.
The place was packed with people cosplaying and mostly fans of toys and comics / animes. To be honest, i'm totally not a fan of either. I'm just tagging along to kepoh and also to see people dressing up as their favourite anime characters.
So when both Bella and Belle was busy looking and judging the cosplayers (is it called cosplayers?) and naming them, i'm also busy admiring (but mostly critisizing la...those of you who knows me well will understand...hehe).
We did manage to take pictures of the cosplayers and also some of the exhibit there.
Bella was suppose to blog about this event but then PSLE prelim and the actual exam is just around the corner, i think it is better that I share it with you guys (sorry didn't give much info cause I really have zero knowledge about all this).
Hope you like the pictures!

The Phantom of the Opera

Have you heard? The Phantom is in town. In Marina Bay Sands of course, where else.

Well, me, Bella and Belle went for the opening night on the 16th July 2013. To be able to watch my favorite musical live, the feeling is beyond words. The music, the orchestra, the stage, makes me feel as if i'm part of it. (Have to pinch myself to make sure i'm not dreaming. Of course we have to thank my beloved hubby for all this!!)

It was a 2 hrs 30 minutes play with a fifteen minutes interval (for toilet break la).
The theatre was filled with die hard fans - must be la if not why wanna waste money to buy the expensive tickets right? Not a single seat was empty.

Overall it was amazing but I personally think that the Phantom's (dunno why i always love the bad guy) voice wasn't as good as Gerard Butler (*drools*). That's just my opinion tho prolly I'm Gerard's fan. The props and costume was very nice except the part on Masquerade where the Phantom is suppose to be in a red costume, I prefer the costume in the movie.

While we are enjoying the play....my poor little Dom is crying for mommy. My heart sank when i knew he was crying for an hour plus....even daddy couldn't do anything except carrying him all the time. Sigh. My poor boys.

Anyway, it's definitely a play that one should not miss it for the world...if you are a fan of course. But I think the tickets are sold out loooooong time already.
Here are some of the pics. Enjoy!

All these pictures are taken from the book that we bought in MBS.

Don't miss the opportunity to catch the Phantom live if you can.

All ready for Chinese New Year!

It's just a few days away from Chinese New Year.  Hubby is in Penang cleaning our house while me and my girls, Bella & Belle is still in Singapore. We will only be going back to Penang on the 20th January 2012. A day before my birthday. We are all so excited.

There are so many things that I like when it's CNY. Firstly, its the FOOD of course. Then, the GAMBLING, followed by the gathering of family members from all over, the gossips, the ang pao's (of coz I will not be the one on the receiving end) and the fire crackers! I have always loved family gatherings. Makes me happy.

This year we did all our CNY shopping in Singapore. First year here and so far it's all good. Bella is in her new school and is adapting well. She joined Brownies in school. She wanna join her school trip to Taman Negara in KL on March holidays. She enjoys her piano classes.

Sheri have to take her S-AEIS exam in Feb 2012. She's currently in Hanbridge school. She love going for her vocal classes. Hope she passes her exam in Feb then it would be a lot easier for me, as their designated driver for now.

For this post there won't be any pictures. My camera is not working as well as before so I'm actually looking forward in getting a new one. I have my eyes on Sony NEX C5. My options are still open....still looking for the best deal. So if any of you have any suggestions please....please tell me.

Niways....Happy Chinese New Year everyone!
Here's an Ang Pow for everyone. Wishing you a happy and prosperous new year!
